Andrew A. Boros is a trial attorney specializing in business litigation and the defense of liability lawsuits.   He has tried dozens of suits to verdict in Illinois civil and criminal courts since he entered practice in 1994.  His typical clients include financial industry professionals and corporations, small businesses, self-insured corporations, sole proprietors and insurance carriers.  He has a special insight into broker/dealer matters having previously held Series 7 and Series 66 licenses with the National Association of Securities Dealers while employed with a worldwide financial leader.
 
Earlier in his career, Mr. Boros tried two dozen criminal cases to verdict as an Assistant State’s Attorney and obtained a 100% felony conviction rate. 

Mr. Boros is a member of the Federal Trial Bar.  He is a member of the professional liability, transportation and retail defense practice groups at KPDE, LLC.

Mr. Boros was born in Chicago and is a life-long resident of the Chicago area.  He lives with his wife, son & daughter in a northern suburb.   
 
Representative matters – Business litigation:  

• Defended Illinois sports league against $500,000 breach of contract claim by multi-national corporation.  Negotiated $5,000 settlement after extended face-to-face settlement discussions over the course of one year.

• Obtained defense judgments in favor of small businesses in multiple suits brought by public utilities for alleged property damage. 

• Successfully represented property managers in condominium disputes and creditors in commercial bankruptcy matters.

Representative matters – Liability suits:

• Secured defense verdict in suit brought by mother of ten-year old boy who sustained facial scarring and internal injuries following an automobile accident.  Client was the only defendant sued.

• Secured defense verdict on punitive damage claim arising from client cardiologist braking downtown Chicago high-rise window while in alleged domestic dispute resulting in glass striking pedestrian on street.  This verdict was highlighted in the Editor’s Choice section of the Illinois Jury Verdict Reporter

• Secured reversal on appeal of denial of motion to vacate default judgment of $700,000 against client prior to referral of case.

• Obtained summary judgment in favor of major developer/defendant in construction accident suit.  Original suit was filed in 2001 and as of 2010 remains pending in circuit court against the other defendants.

• Obtained defense judgments on all counts in eight jury trials noted by Cook County Jury Verdict Reporter. See also two other verdicts of note including one arising from the Venetian Night festival in Chicago.
